Essay

The thesis is devoted to the key problems and the evaluation of the current state of the nuclear deterrence in the modern world. The connection between the structure transformations of the international system and the nuclear deterrence is determined. The horizontal spread of nuclear weapons is shown on the example of Iran and the Norh Korea. The conslusions are made that the spread of the nuclear weapons to the new states will not affect the system of deterrence as the whole but can only affect the regional security systems. The high level of threat that the non-actor actors are posing for the system of nuclear deterrence is discovered. The possibility of the receipt of nuclear weapons by the terrorist organozations is discovered and the conslusions are made that such a threat is posing a great danger to the modern world. The antimissile systems development in the modern world is discussed along with the histocal development of such systems and their potential targets. The conslucion is made that modern developing systems of the USA pose no threat to the general system of nuclear deterrence.
