Essay

The thesis is devoted to the determination of bucket parameters of dredgers intended to increase their productivity while deep-water organic-mineral sediments mining by increasing the fill factor through determination of the bucket rational geometrical parameters, and to define the forces on the bucket during digging. Analytical dependences of the rational height and length of the bucket, as well as its filling resistance on cutting parameters and physical-and-mechanical properties of excavated sediments were determined. Experimental investigation of the process of deep-water organic-mineral sediments digging in laboratory conditions with the use of reduced physical models of buckets and in the real operating conditions of a single-bucket dredger in the Black Sea at a depth of 1,800 m were carried out. Methodology of mathematical modeling for the tech-nical design of the bucket was developed. At the invention level, a method for mining sediments from great depth and device for its realization were invented.
