Essay

On the basis of a wide range of field data and literature, the thesis considers main beliefs, rituals and methods of treatment that were performed since the birth of the infant until they are one year old. The paper thoroughly analyzes basic works on the subject under study and systematizes them chronologically and thematically. Sources based on the author's own field materials are described, which were collected in 145 villages of Ukrainian-Polish borderland.
