This research focuses on the problem of uneven economic development of the world economy. The evolution of classic views and modern scientific paradigm on this issue is analyzed. The theoretical, methodological and conceptual issues of research problems of uneven economic development are described. The content and causes of global economic unevenness are analyzed. Manifestations of some modern global economic unevenness are evaluated. The effect of economic and institutional variables on economic growth is calculated using econometric models.
