The dissertation is devoted to research of the problem of training future border guard officers to use special means and measures of physical restraint in the process of operational and service activity. The essence of readiness of future border guard officers to use special means and measures of physical restraint in the process of operational and service activity, its structure (includes motivational and personality, cognitive information and operationally-activity components). Formation of future border guard officers’ readiness to use special means and measures of physical restraint can be measured by three criteria which characterize its structural components, including personal, cognitive and activity. Pedagogical conditions and methods of the future border guard officers training to use special means and measures of physical restraint have also been grounded and experimentally tested. The methodological recommendations for the scientific and pedagogical staff on training cadets to use special means and measures of physical restraint have been developed based on the results of the research.
