Khylko I. The structure and the semantics of the complex conditional sentences in the Ukrainian prose.

Object - complex sentences with subordinate predicative part of condition in the language of Ukrainian prose. The purpose - to analyze the structural and semantic organization of complex sentences with hypotactic connections and investigate the peculiarities of their functioning in a prose text. Methods - linguistic observation, complex analysis, descriptive, component analysis, transformation and comparable statistical, distributive analysis. The thesis deals with the all-embracing analysis of the complex conditional sentences in the formal-grammatical, semantic-syntactical and communicative levels. These constructions are the special kind of the complex sentences with the determinantal type of hypotactic syntactical connection and they have special means of formal organization and semantic ramification. The specialized and unspecialized, traditional and new conjunctions as the main showing of hypotactic connections and the markers semantic-syntactic relations between predicative parts of analyzed constructions are described. The tendency and ways of replenishment of these conjuctive components are outlined. The role of the category of modality in the formation of complex conditional sentences and their means of its expression are cleared up. The central (strictly-conditional constructions) and peripheral (unstrictly-conditional constructions) zones of complex conditional sentences are allocated according to their semantic differentiation. The text-creative capability of these constructions are outlined. The using frequency in Ukrainian prose of three periods (XIX, XX and XXI centuries) of every semantic types of complex conditional sentences are fixed. Sphere - learning process.
