Essay

The object – processes of the development of international tourism as a component of service sector. The aim – to study theoretical and methodological fundamentals of international tourism development and development of proposals for increasing its role in the economy of Greece under the conditions of economic crisis. The methods – economic and applied, dialectically-historical approaches, comparative-economic, statistical and regressively-correlative analysis. The results: theoretical summarizing was done and new proposal for scientific task concerning the development of international tourism of Greece under the conditions of necessity to overcome economic crisis was suggested. The novelty of the scientific research is that the directions of improving competitiveness of tourist industry of Greece were proved; the directions of the development of the sphere on the base of regressive models of impact assessment on national economy of business foundation value, hotel and restaurant facilities, medical, sanatory and transport infrastructure were emphasized; the analysis technique of tourist sphere competitiveness using international rating assessments and defining statistical connection between indexes of the development of Greece and countries-leaders in the sphere of tourism was improved; revealing competitive advantages and “narrow” places of tourist sector comparatively with countries of similar marketing niche were developed; the directions of strengthening and development of traditionally friendly partner relations between Greece and Ukraine were grounded; strategic directions of the development of tourist sphere of Greece in the aspects of attraction of new foreign investments, improving of the quality of tourist activity by the way of differentiation of tourist product with the aim of decrease of impact on the development of the sphere of seasonality factor were developed. The results were implemented in practical activity of municipality of Kastoria (Greece), Ternopil City Council, Carco Servise Company (Mouzenidis Boris Th.) and in educational process at Ternopil National Economic University.The field: tourism and resorts management at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine; Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine; State Committee of Family Affairs, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
