Тhe dissertation investigates the peculiarities of foreign expansion of German automotive TNCs. The scientific picture of global automotive industry has been introduced in the paper, in particular, the historical discourse and conceptual framework for analysis of transnationalization patterns in world automotive industry have been outlined, and theoretical foundations of the specified processes have been presented. The development of overseas production network by German automotive TNCs on criteria of geographic dispersion, expansion motives, and tools for entry into the market has been analyzed; the influence of investment into new projects, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, non-equity forms of transactions on structural changes in German automotive industry has been revealed; the nature of the effect of capital export by German automotive corporations on main macroeconomic indicators of the home country has been determined; the macroeconomic impact of MNE's international investment position on gross domestic product, volume of export transactions and level of employment in the home country has been estimated by applying econometric tests.
