Object - emotional regulation of educational cognitive activity of students; the purpose - to define dynamics of development and psychological conditions of overcoming of fears of students in the course of educational cognitive activity at the higher school; methods - theoretical methods (the analysis, synthesis, systematization, generalization, comparison); empirical methods (testing, conversation, the stating and forming experiments), methods of mathematical statistics (variation, factorial, cluster, dispersive, discriminant analyses, analysis of distinctions); novelty - the list and structural and dynamic features of student's fears are revealed for the first time, their taxonomy is constructed, the probability of their updating in the conditions of educational cognitive activity at the higher school is defined; factorial structures of psychological determinant of fears at students with different levels of intensity of fears which arise in the course of educational cognitive activity are defined for the first time; the discriminant equations which give opportunity to predict level (low, moderate or high) updatings of fears at students of younger, average and final years in the conditions of educational cognitive activity in higher education institution are for the first time calculated; representations are expanded: about a role of the personal and typological (psycho-physiological systems of activation / braking of behavior), character-logical (factors of "Big Five"), personal (resilience parameters), cognitive (basic belief, styles of attribution), activity (parameters of self-organization of educational cognitive activity, strategy of coping-behavior) factors in updating of student's fears; about ways of psychological ensuring development at students of skills of opposition to different groups of fears which arise in the conditions of educational cognitive activity in higher education institution by method of psychological training; there are gained further development: concept of a special kind of negative emotional experiences which "student's fears" are and which join in regulation of educational cognitive activity at the higher school; the characteristic of age features of the emotional and strong-willed sphere of the identity of youthful age by determination of specifics of interrelations between indicators of emotional, cognitive, activity, formal and dynamic, character-logic and personal spheres of mentality; results - the technique of diagnostics of student's fears is created, the discriminant equations are developed for the forecast of probability of updating of fears, the correctional developing program which is directed on prevention and overcoming of student's fears is offered; provisions and practical development can be applied in practice of psychological service of the higher school; area - psychology.
