Dychka N. Methodology of teaching future IT-specialists English for specific purposes writing

The thesis deals with the problem of teaching future IT-specialists English for specific purposes (ESP) writing on the material of the software requirements specifications (SRS). Modern state of teaching future IT-professionals ESP writing and their psychological and professional skills have been analyzed. Linguistic characteristics of 120 SRS have been defined. It has been found out that psychological factors specific for IT-specialists require using e-learning elements to improve their English writing skills. ESP writing content in teaching future IT-specialists has been defined. The teaching stages have been specified and subsystem of exercises and the model have been developed. On the basis of the subsystem using the platform “Moodle” the training e-course “Software Requirements Specification Development” has been created. The effectiveness of the introduced methodology has been verified during experimental teaching. It can be used for the students of IT field during final semester of a bachelor degree. Methodological recommendations for ESP teachers of higher technical educational institutions have been suggested.
