The thesis is devoted to the formation of the English lexical competence of future doctors in the professionally oriented reading. The study is theoretically grounded, and the method of forming the English lexical competence of doctors in the professionally oriented reading has been practically developed. The concept ‘lexical foreign language competence of future doctors in the professionally oriented reading’ as ability of lexical units and medical terms correct understanding is precised, the purpose is disclosed and it's content and components (linguistic, psychological and methodical) are concretized. The psychological and didactic methodological background of the formation of the English lexical competence of future doctors in professionally oriented reading has been determined and grounded. The particularities of forming the English lexical competence of doctors in the professionally oriented reading have been allocated.
