Rodikov V. Development of professional competence of engineers during training.

The dissertation is devoted to the research of the issue on the development of sappers’ professional competence in the course of advanced training. The essence of professional competence has been defined as an integrated professionally significant property which covers professionally important personal qualities, emotional and strong-willed characteristics, the sapper’s knowledge of explosive objects, explosive substances, means of blasting, ways of search and defusing of explosive objects, the formed level of their detection skills, classification and destruction which allow to carry out tasks according to staff and official appointment effectively. The criteria and indicators have been determined, the levels and state of development of sappers’ professional competence have been characterized. The organizational and pedagogical conditions for the development of sappers’ professional competence in the course of advanced training have been grounded and tested experimentally. The structurally functional model of the development of sappers’ professional competence in the course of advanced training and methodical recommendations for officership and teaching (instructor) staff have been elaborated.
