Pavel D. Academician A.M. Lyulka (1908–1984): scientific, professional, social and cultural characteristics of intellectual biography of aircraft designer.

The thesis work submits the analysis of scientific, productive, organizational and social activity of the outstanding aircraft designer. For the first time the work gives the periodization of scientific achievements of the aircraft designer; it describes the conditions under which Arkhyp Lyulka worked; it analyzes the main directions of his development researches in the aircraft industry. It is established that the aircraft designer’s diligence and the influence of the outstanding mathematician M. P. Kravchuk and his first teacher M. K. Ishchenko played a decisive role in the formation of the future scientist and aircraft designer. It is found major scientific changes of the intellectual biography of the scientist, innovative engineering decisions and practical contribution to the production of turbojet engines for the aircraft industry. It is discovered a major breakthrough in scientific implementations of turbojet engines by the aircraft design bureau of A. Lyulka. It is analyzed scientific achievements of A. Lyulka in the aircraft industry of 1930–1980. The recreation of the aggregate picture of the scientific space of academician A. M. Lyulka afforded ground to conclude about his contribution to the development of domestic and world aircraft industry.
