It is grounded the existence of the transtemporal invariant of University idea. It is defined the main regularities and peculiarities of the University historical types' (pre-classical, classical, postclassical) and conceptual models (research, romantic-liberal and pragmatic) transformation from their origin to the present. It is comprehended the change of the socio-cultural status of the University at different steps of its development.
