Essay

The thesis is devoted to the development and experimental verification of a technique of formation of English linguo-sociocultural competence of high school students by means of the electronic textbook. We researched the current state of the problem of the formation of the English linguo-sociocultural competence of high school students; described the electronic textbook as а means of formation of the English linguo-sociocultural competence of high school students, highlighted its advantages over printed textbooks; determined the theoretical-methodological preconditions of formation of English linguo-sociocultural competence of high school students. In the course of the research the objectives, criteria and content of the formation of English linguo-sociocultural competence of high school students were clarified; the selection of materials to form the English linguo-sociocultural competence of high school students by means of the electronic textbook was made; the stages of formation of English linguo-sociocultural competence of high school students were determined; system of exercises and the model of formation of English linguo-sociocultural competence of high school students using the electronic textbook were developed. In the course of the experiment the effectiveness of the author's methodology was verified and recommendations for its implementation in the learning process were developed.
