The thesis is dedicated to the problem of formation of self-educational competence of future civil-engineers in the process of professional education. The thesis outlines the present state of theory and practice of formation of self-educational competence, provides scientific substantiation of organizational and pedagogical conditions and develops a structural and functional model of self-educational competence of future civil-engineers in the process of professional education. Effectiveness of the experimental model and improved methods of forming of future civil-engineers' self-competence in the process of professional education have been proved. The thesis clarifies the essence and meaning of the notion "self-educational competence of future civil-engineers", defines its component structure. Criteria, indicators and levels of the studied phenomenon have been concretized.
