Essay

The analysis of the main organizational and economic mechanisms of the rural development of the European Union has been conducted. The efficiency of the implementation of the Rural Development Policy by the example of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 of the European Union has been estimated. Recommendations for further strategic direction of the rural development in the European Union and Ukraine have been identified. The role of business in terms of ensuring the rural development has been explained.
