Dissertation research is devoted to the study and correction of speech of the lexical component in younger schoolchildren with serious speech disorders in reading lessons. The study found the degree of development of the research problem in General and special linguodidactics and psychological-pedagogical literature, investigated the levels of development of the lexical component of speech for children with serious speech disorders, the criteria and indicators for its evaluation, generalized typology of lexical errors and the possible causes of their occurrence. The theoretical justification of the methodology of a formative experiment, reveals the trends, stages and the algorithm of lexical work on the reading lessons and summarizes the obtained results of experimental work, statistically proved the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results of the study showed the feasibility and pedagogical effectiveness of the proposed method of correction of the lexical component in children of the specified category for reading lessons.
