The thesis deals with the methodology of teaching listening and speaking in English to kindergarteners using digital storytelling. The methodology of teaching listening and speaking in English to kindergarteners using digital storytelling has been theoretically substantiated and practically elaborated. Digital storytelling is considered as a means of presenting a literary work to kindergarteners. Digital storytelling is realized as a multimedia presentation to English fairy tales. A kindergartener is viewed as a subject of learning a foreign language in the context of a learner-centered approach. Kindergartener’s personal readiness and activity readiness for mastering a foreign language are considered. The components of the content of teaching English to kindergarteners are specified, namely language, speech, linguosociocultural material, learning and communicative strategies, skills and know-how. In terms of the practical research, the stages, the subsystem and the model of teaching listening and speaking in English to kindergarteners using digital storytelling have been worked out. The effectiveness of the suggested methodology has been verified and confirmed in the course of experimental teaching. Methodological recommendations for teaching listening and speaking in English to kindergarteners using digital storytelling have been given.
