Thesis deals with the problem of borderguard officers’ professional competence development in the system of further training by means of distance learning. Borderguard officers’ professional competence is characterized as integrative property, covering personally meaningful motives and values, knowledge and skills necessary for the proper carrying out of the tasks of law enforcement, management, information, communication and educational activities for the protection and defense of the state border in everyday and extreme conditions. The criteria and the indexes of the phenomena have been improved; the levels and the state of professional competence of borderguard officers have been characterized; structural-functional model and organizational-pedagogical conditions of borderguard officers’ professional competence development in the system of further training by means of distance learning have been proved and checked experimentally. According to the results of experimental work the methodical recommendations for the development of professional competence of borderguard officers in in the system of further training by means of distance learning.
