Essay

This thesis propounds a new methodological framework of training university students majoring in journalistic fields. The problem is addressed from the perspective of linguistics, epistemology, didactics, cognitive science, and culturology. The central issue of the investigation is alien media competence of future journalists. The research presents a detailed description of a relevant methodology. The author exhibits how this methodology can be applied in the learning and teaching process, propounding the devised functional model, methods and techniques of processing media material under study and a system of communicative and cognitive professionally-oriented exercises.
