Essay

The thesis presented theoretical generalization and new solution of a scientific problem, which was determined the essence and content of teachers' professional training of humanities in education system the second half of XIX - early XX century, and identifying ways of positive historical experience usage in the modernization of modern national teacher education. Social and humanitarian factors of formation and development teacher education in Ukraine during the investigated period expand: the discrimination of Ukrainian language in all spheres of public life; active policy of cultural assimilation population; fall of the feudal system and intensive industrial development; development of philosophical and pedagogical views as to the ideal teacher and his public functions; impact to the national science progressive ideas of Western pedagogy; increasing demands of society for the teacher's individual, his professional and pedagogical training. The practical training of teachers as an integral part of the educational process of high school, which provides a combination of theoretical knowledge with its practical activities, facilitates tailoring a creative approach to educational activities, determines a degree of proficiency, and a level of pedagogical orientation of future teachers. During teaching practice students acquire such professional skills as determining the goals and objectives of the educational process taking into consideration age and individual characteristics of pupils, the study of individual pupils, possible ways of their development, planning educational activities, making use of various forms and methods of educational process, their analysis and amendment. On the basis analysis of the key components contents, including the general theoretical component, pedagogical practice and testing work proved that during the second half of XIX - early XX century on the History and Philology faculties of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Novorossiysk universities in Nizhynsk Institute of History and Philology professional training of future teachers carried out in the study subjects psycho-pedagogical cycle, teaching practice at the school attached, at the seminars, in writing research papers on pedagogical and methodological issues. Educational curriculum analysis of these institutions made it possible to identify their large number of subjects, focus on teaching classical languages and history; determine instability of theoretical component in training future teachers. Revealed that learning by students a system of general pedagogical knowledge provided by the educational curriculums interaction of different subjects, which were integrated nature provided various forms of the educational process (public lectures, courses, workshops, proseminars, debates, colloquiums, independent scientific work, extracurricular work). The effectiveness of the educational process is achieved by using the combination of various forms and methods. The practical training during the training promoted to the development of future teachers in their professional and pedagogical orientation and teaching abilities. Extracurricular work, carried out in universities, was closely associated with the training, aimed at identifying and developing creative abilities of future teachers; its contents intensified interest in the different fields of knowledge, facilitated professional development of students professional skills and influenced to the active scientific research activities. The effectiveness of vocational training students ensured continuity of classroom and extracurricular work. The following trends in training the humanities teacher in education system of the second half of XIX - early XX century were identified: foundation of pedagogy faculties at higher education institutions; integration of general university and teacher education; development of authorial programs for general-purpose and special (professional) subjects; substantiation of teacher education as a special post-graduation one and foundation of pedagogic courses at universities in this regard. The prospects of creative ideas usage advanced teaching facilities determined of the second half XIX - early XX century to improve the modern teachers' training of humanities.
