Essay

The research is devoted to the problem of training of future managers towards organization of ethnographic tourism. The thesis defines the current state of tourism education in Ukraine and proves that it is still evolving: the theoretical and methodological foundations are being developed, standards are being approved, study curricula, programs are being improved, etc. The main problems are: definition of methodological foundations of tourism education; lack of conceptual apparatus development; the content and teaching supplies updating; organization of practical training; ethnic and cultural characteristics of different regions; psychological support of vocational education. In the study, it has been discovered that the methodological basis of tourism education in Ukraine is personality oriented, contextual, competence, activity, sociocultural approaches.Definitive and semantic analysis of research in the theory and practice of higher educational establishments convinces that there are many approaches to identifying key categories of our research in modern science: "tourism", "tourism industry", "tourism education", "professional education in tourism". We have focused in detail on the interpretation of the concept of "ethnographic tourism" and forms of its organization in the content of training of future tourism managers. On the basis of the analysis it can be stated that the definition of "ethnographic tourism" in the scientific literature is extremely rare, while researchers use such definitions close to its meaning as "ethno-cultural tourism", "ethnic tourism", "aboriginal tourism", "adequate tourism" and others. In this regard our own definition has been formulated: ethnographic tourism is a type of tourism that aims to acquaint tourists with local features of traditional material and spiritual culture of a particular ethnic group. The basic functions of ethnographic tourism, its forms of organization, principles and preconditions for the development of ethnographic tourism in Ukraine have been also singled out.
