Ivanochko I. International and legal standards of the status of judges

The thesis is devoted to the complex research of international and legal standards of the status of judges. The legal nature of international and legal standards of the status of judges has been brought to light as well as the definition of the concept of international and legal standards of the status of judges as a system of fundamental norms and principles of international law fixing the legal description of the status of judges in international and legal acts and determining the demands for judges, their selection, appointment, office, responsibility and termination of their office has been suggested and justified. The main reasons of forming international and legal standards of the status of judges have been investigated by means of the system analysis of objective preconditions of their formation which are regulatory fixed in international and legal acts. The theoretical and statutory and legal analysis of the base of international and legal acts and national legislation concerning the appointment to judges office, the implementation of the principle of judicial independence, the office of judges and termination of their office has been carried out. The recommendations concerning amendments to the national legislation of Ukraine, in terms of the legal regulation of the status of judges taking into account international and legal standards of the status of judges have been suggested.
