Essay

The thesis is based on historical data of the Main Statistical Office in Kyiv region and the results of field research conducted by the author, who highlights the dynamics and characteristics of demographic processes in the Kyiv region in the second half of the XX - early XXI century. Basing on a wide range of sources, the gender, age, educational and professional structure and as well as migration activity are studied. The study analyzes the dynamics of the age and sex structure of the population of Kyiv region. It indicates the predominance of the number of women over men in the general population, and this correlation is typical for the most age groups. The Kyiv region is also characterized by the population aging. Changing the number of rural population is directly connected with the natural movement of the population and migration, as well as the transformation of rural areas into the city.
