Zhumbei M. Formation of general cultural competence of the future managers of tourism in the process of professional training.

In the thesis the model of formation of general competence of the future managers of tourism in the process of professional training in higher educational establishments are for the first time worked out, scientifically grounded and experimentally tested.The modern conceptual theoretical and methodological approaches to the professional training that contribute to the modernization of the process of training of the future managers of tourism are analyzed and systematized; the essence of the concept "general cultural competence of the future managers of tourism" is specified and its structural components are set up; the criteria and indices are determined, the levels of general cultural competence of the future managers of tourism are characterized; the structure and functional model of the process of study as a system of guiding conditions of formation of general competence of the future managers of tourism is developed, scientifically grounded and experimentally tested.A special course "Green Tourism with Culturological Aspects" is developed and introduced in pedagogical process of the higher educational establishment; training and methodical support to the process of formation of the future managers of tourism is represented (curriculum, course of lectures and practical classes, multimedia maintenance, system of tasks for self-guided and individual students' work, tests and tasks for different types of control, criteria of evaluation of the results of their implementation, method guidelines on students' self-guided work); method guidelines for the teachers of different disciplines are developed (e.g. Ukrainian for Professional Direction, Office Management in Tourism, History of Ukrainian Culture, IT, English, German, Psychology, Art Study, Cultural and Educational Tourism, PR in Tourism, Human Resource Management etc.) aimed at training students for mastering general cultural competence.The results of experimental training are determined indicating the effectiveness of the proposed technology of formation of general cultural competence of the future managers of tourism.
