Essay

The object is phraseological units of the Ukrainian language that define education both as a process and result; the aim is to reveal national and cultural specificity of phraseological representation of the notion "education" in the Ukrainian language, peculiarities of the notional structure and system organization of phraseological units; to define the dynamics of the investigated notion in the modern Ukrainian phraseology; methods that are used: taxonomic, semantic identification and differentiation, definition and notional analysis, distributive analysis, methods of componential analysis and synthesis, oppositional analysis, elements of linguoculturological interpretation; novelty - for the first time in Ukrainian linguistics phraseological units defining the vision of the Ukrainian people about education was systematized and interpreted from the linguistic angle; the peculiarities of internal organization of phraseological units in different ideographic branches that belong to the structure of phraseological thematic field "Education"; the peculiar features of the lexical contents of phraseological units that define education and its influence on the whole phraseological semantics are defined; results - the obtained information extends the theory of phraseological units system relations, grounds up peculiarities of the whole phraseological semantics formation in light of the internal form, lexical semantics and grammatical features of the components that belong to the lexical contents of phraseological units; emphasises theoretical and practical value of the ideographic approach in studying the features of presentation separate notions in a language; the factual material, fundamental principles and findings of the theses may be used while holding optional courses, optional seminars on phraseological semantics, when writing text books and monographs on lexicology, phraseology, cultural linguistics and in lexicographical practice; sphere - linguistics.
