The paper outlines the theoretical generalization of conceptual principles and scientific methods for analyzing the transformation of the world oil market in terms of geo-economic challenges and a new solution of actual scientific task of the mechanism of the world oil market functioning, identifies areas of its transformation and the role and level of influence of sustainable development requirements on the global sectoral market. The paper provides a research of tendencies of the global oil market in terms of globalization and regionalization, analyzes parameters of sustainable development on the world market and the role of technological innovation in the structure of the global oil market mechanism. The practical application of the developed method of evaluation of the impact of sustainable development requirements in order to prove the development prospective of the global market and strategic priorities of the petroleum refining market of Ukraine was performed.
