Essay

The thesis is the theoretical and experimental study of problems related to the introduction of pedagogical assessment in the system of Physical education in elementary school. In the thesis, due to analysis of the history of development of pedagogical control in physical education, modern approaches of scientists and teachers-practitioners, the basic functions, aims and tasks of pedagogical control, the forms and means of its implementation into the practice of elementary schools are defined. The theoretical and methodological framework of model characteristics of physical fitness of schoolchildren in elementary school are grounded. Socially-pedagogical backgrounds of improving the system of assessment of pupils' physical fitness are defined. The issue of restructuring of the testing system of level of schoolchildren physical fitness is considered. Theoretical conclusions are confirmed by a considerable experimental base of the study. The content of the training and test module to determine the physical level of pupils fitness in the content of which included complex motor tests for a comprehensive study of the achievements of pupils in all basic physical qualities are grounded. A perspective direction for further research is the study of level of physical fitness and health not only pupils of one region but pupils of other districts of Ukraine through the introduction of educational test module.
