A research object is a process of study of epic work of Ukrainian literature at base school. A research purpose consists in scientific development and ground of the methodical system of forming of analytical-sintetic abilities of teenagers in the process of study of epic works of Ukrainian literature at base school, and also experimental verification of its efficiency. Methods: theoretical, empirical and statistical. Scientific novelty of research: in the first time the methodical system of forming of analytical-sintetic abilities of students is developed 5-6 classes during the study of epic work of Ukrainian literature; certainly criteria of evaluation of educational achievements of students 5-6 classes (ability oriented in the artistic system of work and select it meaningful elements; to characterize basic parts of work and relation between them; to explain the value of work and actions above text); the methodical model of forming of analytical-sintetic abilities of students is experimentally tested 5-6 classes during the study of epic work, indexes of levels of formed of analytical-sintetic abilities for schoolboys 5-6 classes. Practical meaningfulness of research consists in development and approbation of the system of tasks and exercises for forming for the teenagers of analytical-sintetic abilities, methodical recommendations, for teachers, directed on perfection of forming process on noted issue.
