The thesis is devoted to a comparative analysis of the impact of diet using meal and Mediterranean diet on the dynamics of weight loss, body mass index, lipid, carbohydrate and purine metabolism in patients with metabolic syndrome. We determined an impact of diet using meal of milk thistle seeds, wheat, oats, pumpkin, fiber from wheat germ, buckwheat with inulin on components of the metabolic syndrome (obesity, hypertension, dyslipoproteinemia, hyperglycemia, hyperuricaemia) in the prevention of metabolic syndrome. Effectiveness and appropriateness of meal in dietetic nutrition for normalization of body weight in patients with metabolic syndrome was scientifically substantiated and proven. Positive effect of diet using meal on the course of hypertension and normalizing lipid, carbohydrate and purine exchanges was proven. Feasibility and efficiency of the diet using meal in preventing progression of the metabolic syndrome and prevention of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and their complications was scientifically substantiated.
