Skrypka K. Cultural and Artistic Aspects of the Ukrainian Diaspora Activities in the UK (within the second half of 20th and beginning of 21st centuries).

The thesis has analysed the dynamics of those cultural and artistic spheres of life which are dominating in the life of the Ukrainian Diaspora in the UK and existing in a unified integral socio-cultural environment since the second half of the 20th century to the present day. It is specified that formation of Ukrainian Diaspora in the UK has been determined by the following factors: geographical insularity of the country, the solidarity of the representatives of the immigration associations, their high national consciousness as members of the military patriotic organizations, professional status and cultural level. All mentioned factors give the possibility to the Diaspora members for their organic adaptation to the social medium the country.The Ukrainian Diaspora in the UK is an example of a highly organized social structure. While functioning in the alien culture, the Diaspora managed to create conditions and to keep the basic mechanisms of the national identity of Ukrainian people. The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) became the coordination centre of the domestic and external cooperation of the Ukrainians.
