Essay

Object: the process of formation and modifications of characteristic features of painted ornament on dishes of Trypillian attractions for phase BI–BII in the Middle and Upper Trans-Dniester. Objective: establishment of regularities in the development of painted ornament on dishes for attractions of Zalishchyky group of Cucuten-Trypillia, which can be considered ornament as a historical source. Methods: stylistic-compositional analysis, statistical, historical analogies and systematization, chronological approach, typological and comparative-historical. Results: for the first time gathered and generalized available data about the monuments of Zalishchyky group, introduced into scientific circulation new materials that obtained primarily as a result of processing of museum collections, through comparing of ornamental schemes defined type, used and rare modules and components of ornament, that allowing to determine main features of Zalishchyky paintings, set close relationship of ornament modules with the forms of dishes, as well as traced regularities of their topography on surface of vessels, improved the concept and procedure of studying of Zalishchyky paintings, proposed the method of analysis of ornaments, improved viewing of attribution of the part of settlements in group by the results of comparisons of ceramic systems. Scope of application: in the ability to use research findings for reconstruction of historical and cultural processes in the Middle Trans-Dniester for the Chalcolithic era, during of writing generalizing works, textbooks and lecture courses, compiling of monuments reports and formation of museum exhibitions.
