The dissertation analyzes the state of dental health of the working age population, on the basis of which is proved significance of which it as a medical and social problem. Among the working-age population were identified major risk factors that lead to the increase of teeth and oral cavity diseases' incidence. It is shown that low levels of material and technical provision and salary in the health care institutions of the public sector that provide dental care, lead to inadequate provision of the population with dentists and affects the effectiveness of the preventive work. A functional model of the oral cavity common diseases' prevention of the working age population is proposed, which strategic direction is to improve the state of the dental status of the working age population by involving health workers of the primary health care for the evaluation and control of the oral hygiene level, poor level of which increases the intensity of caries. The implementation of certain elements of the proposed model in the activities of medical institutions has proved its medical, social and economic effectiveness.
