Essay

The dissertation is the first complex extended investigation of the stonecutting as the chief component of traditional economical occupation of the inhabitants of the East Podillia in the late XIXth - early XXIst centuries written on the base of a wide range of the sources and scientific literature. The studying history and the state of the ascertaining of the definite problem, the sources are analyzed in the work, the methodological principles of the investigation are reflected and the interpretations of the main terms are given.
