Essay

The thesis is devoted to solution of actual scientific and practical problem of expanding uses of hornbeam wood with updated basic physical and mechanical properties due to its treatment under the influence of high temperatures without oxygen. Developed the methods of forecasting colour of thermomodified hornbeam wood. Determined regime parameters of modification of hornbeam wood to optimize the process, depending on the scope of products made from it. Received the resulting changes depending on the physical and mechanical properties of hornbeam wood from temperature and duration of treatment in the form of regression equations and defined the connection between the destruction of the anatomical elements of wood and modes of thermomodification. Defined the scope using of products made from heat treated hornbeam wood in different modes depending on the requirements of their environmental conditions and exploitation. Established the costeffectiveness of using slip decking made of thermally modified wood of hornbeam, which is due to longer service life and minimal additional costs to maintain it in working order is 795 UAH/m^2 compared with traditional larch, 482 UAH/m^2 – the new environmentally pure wood material Accoya.
