Essay

In this thesis, the art of Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre for the first time was researched as the historical and cultural system, which consists of two different phases. These phases are different by the temporal duration and content. The first phase (1920-1991) initially was characterized by the relatively freedom of art in the early five-year period in 20s years, but after it existed in the conditions of growing dictatorship of socialistic totalitarianism. The second phase (1991-2001) proceeded in the atmosphere of democratic reconstruction in the country, which was favorable to the art.
