during the learning of syntax in the 8th and 9th forms. The thesis presents the results of theoretical and experimental research of the realization competence approach to the learning of syntax, namely the formation of students' grammatical competence during the learning of syntax in the 8th and 9th forms. It is specified the essence of basic concepts: "grammatical competence students in the 8th and 9th forms", "language competence", "speech competence", "communicative competence". It is analyzed the psychological and pedagogical conditions of the formation of students' grammatical competence during the learning of syntax in the 8th and 9th forms. It is justified the linguodidactic characteristics and it is devised the method of the formation of students' grammatical competence during the learning of syntax in the 8th and 9th forms, based on the realization of communicative focus of teaching. The essence of the proposed technique is to create a system of exercises and tasks (analytical, reproductive, constructive, productive and creative character), to realize the competence approach to the formation of syntactic skills in the process of mastering phrases, simple and complex sentences, texts of different types, kinds and genres. Experimental and experiential studies confirmed the efficiency of methods of the formation of students' grammatical competence during the learning of syntax in the 8th and 9th forms. The comparative analysis of the results of experimental studies showed the positive dynamics of the levels of students' grammatical competence in the 8th and 9th forms during the learning of syntax, which confirmed the feasibility of the proposed model.
