Belko O. Activities of territorial self-government related to development and promotion of pottery craft in Poltava region (1876–1919)

Object: pottery craft of Poltava province in last third of the XIX - early XX century. Objective: studying of the experience of zemstvo in the Poltava province from support of artisanal pottery craft in last third XIX – early XX century, including the impact on technology, machinery, style and range of products of traditional pottery. Methods: historical and chronological, problem-chronological, dialectical, interdisciplinary method of mathematical statistics. Results: for the first time comprehensively analyzed and summarized the work of rural institutions; followed changes in technical and technological processes in local pottery for production period; summarizes the field scientific studio of pottery craft as a separate direction of Poltava province zemstvo activities; the basic stages of deployment of rural care in activities rural burns pottery crafts; reconstructed measures of Poltava province zemstvo for use of clay in housing, improved research of source and historiography material on the history of functioning of Poltava region as ethnographic region of Ukraine; description of the concept of rural initiatives from support of cells in craft, pottery schools and individual masters; analysis of training process specialists in refractory construction. Scope of application: in the practical activities of state and local governments from support the pottery centers and individual masters, in the preparation of scientific papers, textbooks on the history of folk art of Ukraine and for forming of the museum exhibitions.
