The dissertation deals with the research of the problem of the border guard officers’ professional competence development during their professional training using professional simulations. The essence of the border guard officers’ professional competence development during their professional training using professional simulations; interpretation of such concepts as "border guard officers’ professional competence", "border guard officers’ professional competence development" in terms of the educational process in the higher military educational establishment have been revealed. The diagnostic tool to ascertain the state of the border guard officers’ professional competence development during their professional training using professional simulations has been determined. The model of the border guard officers’ professional competence development during their professional training using professional simulations with the following components such as: target, content-related, scientific and methodical, analytical and resultative; pedagogical conditions of the border guard officers’ professional competence development during their professional training using professional simulations have been grounded and experimentally tested.
