The thesis presents a comprehensive study of theoretical and practical problems of ensuring the application of the criminal proceedings as a seizure. The stages of development of this institution in the criminal procedural legislation of independent Ukraine. The question of the nature, reason, purpose and object of seizure. It was found on the property which individuals and entities it may be imposed. Investigated the procedure for adoption and enforcement of seizure. Analyzed the procedure for cancellation during the preliminary investigation and the trial. Suggestions on amendments and additions to the CCP for the improvement regulate the use of seizure.
