In the dissertation evolution of the role of precious metals was investigated and analysis of conjuncture on the world gold and silver markets under the conditions of financial globalization was made. Econometric evaluation of the impact of US economy and processes of globalization in the world on the prices of gold and silver was conducted. The impossibility of returning to the peg of currencies to the precious metals is grounded. The trends and contradictions in the development of the precious metals market in the world and in Ukraine are determined.
