PThe thesis is devoted to the psychological sovereignty issues of the individuality of a programmer, namely its motivational and cognitive correlates. The work contains the theoretical substantiation, the methodological bases and the results of empirical research of the problem. There are presented different psychological interpretation of the individual sovereignty essence. Its disclosed content, structure and key correlates. The semantic differential aimed at determining the self - appraisal of the professional success of the programmer's, individuality has been elaborated. It allows us to identify the categories with the help of which the efficiency and self-realization of a personality are estimated. It has been established that these ones with optimum level of psychological sovereignty have higher productivity indices (academic successfulness, professional skill, external assessment and self-assessment of professional success) and motivational - cognitive personality traits. It has been determined that the optimum level of psychological sovereignty development is essential for maintaining the functional status of an individual. The conception of the factors that determine the efficiency and the success of the individuality of the programmer has got deeper. It has been proved that the leading activity may appear as a factor that alters the structural and cognitive characteristics of the psychological space sovereignty. The typology of a programmer depending on the individual psychological sovereignty indicators, motivational and cognitive characteristics and the activity value for each of the five singled out types has been worked out.
