Essay

Dissertation is dedicated to the analysis of structural components and typology of the Ukraine art market in terms of deployment of early capitalist relations and autonomy of cultural field in late 19th - early 20th century, the end of 20th - beginning of 21st century. We bypass period of the Soviet Union, because in this stage the art market was entirely dominated by the state, and requires special research. We propose a system of theoretical and methodological analysis of the art market, which involves analysis of the relationship between its structural participants. The leading role in the study took precisely the principle of cultural comparativism that allows the parallel investigation of the system the artist (or the artistic product) - the market - the buyer. Due to the chosen strategy significant features of the process of formation of history and modern Ukrainian art can be verified in the study of the art market in Kiev of named periods.
