Essay

The object of research: emotional maturity of personality. The purpose of the work: on the basis of the definition of the structural features of the emotional maturity of personality to develop a methodology for its diagnosis and a program of psychological correction. Methods: theoretical (analysis, systematization, comparison and generalization of data), empirical (interview, testing, method of expert evaluation), methods of mathematical and statistical processing. Scientific novelty: it is identified that the structure of individual emotional maturity consists of five components: reflection of emotions, emotional self-control, empathy, emotional expressiveness and acceptance of personal emotions; the methods of diagnosing the emotional maturity of personality are established; it is shown that depending on the level of individual emotional maturity there appear features of structure in emotional sphere; the correlation of individual emotional maturity with the general maturity level of character traits, social and psychological adaptation, ego-defenses, psychosemantical features of ego-system is determined; the program of psychological treatment of individual emotional maturity is developed. The practical value of the research consists in the development of a psychometrically substantiated methodology for diagnosing the emotional maturity of personality, which is aimed at revealing the general level of emotional maturity of personality and its structural components; in the creation of a program of psychological correction which is aimed at raising the level of emotional maturity of personality. The effect of the introduction is high. The areas of use: higher education institutions, psychological services.
