Essay

The object: professional socialization of students. The topicality: conceptualization of the role of the ascriptive statuses in the context of the professional socialization of students. Methods of the research: comparative-historical method, system-structural method, analysis, typology, comparative analysis and synthesis, structured interview, questionnaire, focused group interview, analysis of documentary sources, factorial, typological, correlation analysis. Theoretical and practical results: from the standpoint of constructivist structuralism, professional socialization of students is defined as a multi-level and multifactorial process of forming of professional competences of the individual; typology of professional strategies of students (monoprofessional, polyprofessional and conformist strategies) is developed and characterized; the cumulative impact of the ascetic status on the formation of professional strategies of students is defined; a system of indicators of the level of sustainability of a professional strategy is developed. Novelty: conceptualization of the role of ascriptive statuses in the context of the professional socialization of students. Degree of implementation: the results of the dissertation research are introduced into the educational process by the sociological faculty of the V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University on a permanent basis in the form of lectures and practical classes on the courses "An Introduction to Sociology", "The History of Classical Sociology", "Sociology of Education", "The Newest Sociological Theories".
