Essay

For the first time in the domestic and foreign research practices the systematic and holistic study of the historical and cultural process of the emergence and formation of the hospitality as a social and cultural phenomenon in its various forms of ethno-national in the context of the historical evolution of its content and form was realized with the use of the materials for the first time placed in the scientific use. The historiography of the problem was analyzed, the source base of the research was identified and characterized, the scientific theoretical and methodological approaches to solving the mentioned problem were summarized, the concepts of "hospitality", "culture of hospitality", "social culture", "socio-cultural phenomenon" etc. were clarified, the nature of the hospitality as a product of the social and cultural development was clarified, the evolution tendencies of the hospitality were considered, the current situation and the problems of the hospitality in the conditions of the globalization processes were analyzed. Hospitality as a public institution is a complex phenomenon of the social culture. This socio-cultural phenomenon is the result of a long, complex, dialectically contradictory process of the socio-cultural development of the mankind and includes: a) the orientation of the public consciousness for a benevolent attitude to the representatives of another tribe, people, nation, state; b) a system of the appropriate moral and ethical norms for the communicating with them as with "guests" and behaviour "on a visit"; c) a set of the special institutions (organization, enterprises with the corresponding production infrastructure), intended in the practice to ensure the compliance with these standards. The analysis of the evolution of the industrial infrastructure of the Hospitality Institute showed that the production of the hospitable services passes the typical phases of the social organization of the labour: from individual, through cooperation, manufactory, factory, to the industry. The modern world level of the hospitality institute is a super-industry in the structure of the tourism industries, the hotel and restaurant industry, entertainment and advertising industries.
