Essay

The thesis is devoted to development of theoretical, methodological and applied the principles of international entrepreneurial activities of universities. The evolution of theoretical views on the role and functions of universities, the emergence of new forms (researching, entrepreneurial, corporate, etc.), increasing their value as actors of the global educational environment. Preconditions and areas of expansion business function of modern universities have been defined.The essence and characteristics of entrepreneurial universities have been specified. The key criteria of the type of entrepreneurial universities, characterized sufficiently diversified functions, activities and relationships with other entities of endogenous and exogenous environment have been described. The structure of the global educational environment has been analyzed. Special attention has been focused on the main trends in the global educational environment. Discovered and comprehensively analyzed the development of the global education market, trends in exports and imports. The core group of countries, including the major group of actors - leaders of export and import of educational services are defined by using cluster analysis. The basic trends are founded and exposed areas of international research universities are uncovered. The scope and structure of income leading universities are characterized. The entrepreneurial universities achieve leadership position in the global education market by means strong and diversified educational and researching activities on business principles. The positions Ukrainian universities in the world rankings and the degree of presence in the global education market are evaluated. Proved that improving the position of Ukrainian universities in the global educational environment can be achieved only through their systematic and integrated development, with clearly defined priorities.
