Object - age features of ethnic identity of the personality; purpose - to define age features of ethnic identity of Ukrainians and the main modulators of its formation; methods - theoretical (systematization and generalization), empirical (observation, conversation, testing, experiment), mathematical-statistical methods of data processing; novelty - for the first time: it is defined that Ukrainians of different age have peculiar self-myths of rather own ethnic identity and self-understanding of as representative of this ethnos; age and regional regularities of formation of ethnic identity of Ukrainians are revealed; the psychological model of formation of ethnic identity of the modern Ukrainian in which a key role is played by mythemes and myths which cause formation of its cognitive, emotional and behavioral components is created; ideas of cognitive, affective and behavioral components of ethnic identity of Ukrainians at different stages of ontogenesis are expanded; means of psychological maintenance of development of ethnic identity in pupils and students are gained further development; results - age features of cognitive, affective and behavioral components of ethnic identity of Ukrainians depending on the region of residence are defined; psychological features of self-myths of Ukrainians different regional accessories and age are defined; the model of formation of ethnic identity and the program of psychological maintenance of self-identification of Ukrainians taking into account age and regional features are developed; the theoretical and empirical results received by the author can be used during vocational training and increase in professional level of practical psychologists when teaching a number of subject matters; extent of introduction - research results are introduced in activity of 3 pedagogical higher educational institutions; area - psychology.
