Pshenychnyi Y. Historical topography of Dubno and its surrounding area in the X-XVIII centuries.

The dissertation is dedicated to the formation and development of the layout organization of the town of Dubno in the X-XVIII and its connections with the outskirts district. Complex analysis of the archeological, written and visual sources has been first carried out and the periods of town development have been retraced. Prosperity of the town of Dubno is closely connected with the agricultural potential of the micro-region of the middle reaches of the Ikva river. It was also designated by the laws of economic and political domineering, which were first recorded in 1100, during the transition of Dubno into the appanage principality of Davyd Igorovych. From the end of the XV century Dubno becomes one of the residencies belonging to the princes of Ostroh in Volyn region. Both periods in the town history are characterized by the dynamic development of the site space planning and buoyant socio-economic life. In the dissertation constructive peculiarities of the residential houses, outbuildings, sacred and monumental buildings are characterized. The stages of the development of the defense centers and their influence on the town build-up are considered.
